The Town of Blandford Massachusetts was founded in 1741 and is located in Hampden County.

The community consists of 2000 year round residents.

The town which is sited in the eastern foothills of the Green Mountains and crossed by streams has become a favored summer getaway for permanent resident of Springfield and Westfield. In the center of town they have been able to maintain the Greek revival church which residents are very proud of.

20th Annual Bel Canto Opera
The Blandford Historical Society will present the 20th Annual Bel Canto Opera at 7:30p.m. on Saturday, August 23rd at The White Church of Blandford. Join us again this year as Maestra Eve Queler brings stellar new voices to The White Church of Blandford for the annual Bel Canto performance. The Opera will be directed by Eve Queler, Emerita Artistic Director and founder of Opera Orchestra of New York and a 2010 honoree by the National Endowment for the Arts, and accompanied by Douglas Martin. Maestro Queler will introduce new and exciting voices in the wonderfully intimate venue of The White Church of Blandford: Rochelle Bard (Soprano), Ashley Kerr (Soprano), Jonathan Blalock (Tenor) and John Bellemer (Tenor). They will sing selections from Bellinis Norma, Franz Lehars Merry Widow, and Puccinis Madama Butterfly. The event benefits the preservation and maintenance of The White Church, listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings.
