21st Annual Bel Canto Opera Concert
The Blandford Historical Society will present the 21st Annual Bel Canto Opera at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August29 at The White Church of Blandford. Join us again this year as Maestra Eve Queler brings stellar new voices to The White Church of Blandford for the annual Bel Canto performance. The Opera will be directed by Eve Queler,Emerita Artistic Director and founder of Opera Orchestra of New York and a 2010 honoree by the National Endowment for the Arts, and accompanied by Douglas Martin. Maestro Queler will introduce new and exciting voices in the wonderfully intimate venue of The White Church of Blandford: Jami Leonard (Soprano), Ewa Plonka (Mezzo Soprano), Thorstein Helgi Arbjornsson (Tenor) and John Viscardi (Baritone). They will sing selections from Mozarts Magic Flute, Donizettis La Favorita, Strauss Die Fledermaus, Rossinis Cinderella and more The event benefits the preservation and maintenance of The White Church, listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. Please note: Open Seating. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
